Community Collaborations and Public Task Forces

Coming together to get what they need

Collaboration has been described as “an unnatural act performed by unconsenting adults.”  We understand that too many people have had too many bad experiences when collaboration is viewed as an end in itself.

We recognize that there are times when groups are more effective working independently to achieve their own missions. And when collaboration is indicated, its impact can be dramatic.

We are committed to helping diverse groups explore their common values, priorities, and assets. When they can benefit from working together, we help them chart the course and build genuine consensus.

One special case is the public task force, appointed to explore an important issue and recommend solutions. We help these groups utilize the best strengths of their members to come to agreement, create new directions, and – perhaps most importantly -- work effectively with elected and professional officials to develop genuine support and actionable strategies.
