Roadmap to Healthy Communities
Public health encompasses much more than immunizations and restaurant inspections. Community Health is undertaking a countywide engagement plan to listen to residents, explore new directions, and develop partnerships for collaborative community health projects.
Community Health asked D2 to design and manage their first community assessment process combining health data with diverse citizen feedback about health needs at the ground level.
- We trained health educators in community engagement and facilitation of focus groups to enhance their leadership skills and prepare them for ongoing community assessments.
- We identified grassroots networks and reached out to thousands of citizens throughout Clackamas County to ask them to define health for themselves and their communities.
- We convened a diverse group of 20 Community Advisors to support outreach and review citizen feedback prior to Community Health’s planning process.
